Ultrasun Face SPF50+

Excellent protection, on its own or under make up .

4 stars cos it leaves a whitish hue, that you have to rub in. Otherwise very good

My granddaughter, who lives in Sydney, sent me Ultrasun Face 50 for my birthday in March. She's very well informed about sun protection and so, when the dispenser was close to finishing, I ordered my second one. I have delicate skin and hate wearing foundation - I am so much happier with Ultrasun Face 50 than previous sunscreens.

Wow this product has been ruined. I have used Ultrasun for over 20 years. It has been such a simple and easy part of my routine, no fuss, reliable, sat perfectly under make up, but opened a new one and it's a greasy stingy mess. I has to wash it off, tried again and my make up slid all over my face. Tried another new bottle and it was the same. I now need to find a new sunscreen brand because the formula on this I just can't, it doesn't work anymore. Sad.

The Ultrasun range is the only one that stops my husband getting sunburnt. He is a sensitive soul! Absolutely recommended, I wear it 365 days a year.

Just started a new bottle with what must be the new formula, absolutely horrible!! I was using this before ever day, now I can’t use the brand new bottle as it is so greasy and feels horrible on the skin. Such a shame as the other formula was amazing. Why would you make a great product bad?! I’m sure lots of other customers will be changing brands now… I definitely will be! The brand new bottle I have will also be going in the bin. Such a waste of money!

I recently purchased this sun screen thinking it was gunna be good as I’ve used it many times before and the formula was very different compared to this formula it left my face looking a right greasy state why change the formula and make it greasy you ruined and good product for customers shame on you Ultrasun and this company supposed to have won awards how the hell have they won awards overall I don’t and wouldn’t recommend this greasy mess to anyone the product doesn’t soak into the skin just leave a right greasy mess sitting on top of your skin

I've used this for years now. Being fairskinned i have to be very careful & I have never burned using this.

Been consistently using this product for around 2 years now and was easily the best face SPF on the market for those with sensitive skin with no irritation or pilling on the skin. Immediately noticed a big difference with this new formula; so much so that I had to check the packaging to ensure I'd purchase the correct product! The new formula is greasy, does not sit well on the skin and feels similar to cheap sun cream I have tried in the past. Such a shame but will have to find a new alternative as this is definitely not worth the price.

I have been using this spf for so many years and recently ordered it from Amazon and thought I had been sold a fake. The new formula is awful!, It’s very greasy and doesn’t absorb well. It also feels like it doesn’t give the same coverage due to the slippery consistency and I have come out in spots!

I can’t understand how they could change such a great reliable formula to this rubbish. I’ve been googling all morning to find a new alternative which mirrors the last formula. Gutted.

I have used this product for many, many years...Ultrasun has changed the formula which is now just AWFUL!! I find it very greasy, it sits on top of my skin and it make my eyes sting like mad!

What's everyone buying instead?
I have been a long time user of Ultrasun body and face sunscreen, but the new texture and finish isn't worth the high product cost. What is everyone using as an alternative as I'm guessing we're all looking for the same kind of product given that we used Ultrasun for its no fragrance, non-comedogenic and being suitable for sensitive skin.

I have to disagree with some of the most recent comments — the batch code on my product starts with 49 and I love it. It is definitely on the thicker side and takes a while to absorb, but once it does my face feels soft and looks smooth. Thr formula is gentle and didn't make my eyes sting like cheaper formulas do. Received the smaller size as a free gift, I will be purchasing the full size now.

My experience is exactly the same as the previous two reviewers. I started using the updated SPF50 face yesterday and immediately noticed the difference on application . The batch code starts with the numbers 49. It is very oily and leaves your face looking greasy and shiny . It doesn’t absorb well at all. I have used the old formula for years and it was perfect so why it has changed is a mystery. I emailed ultrasun today and was told that “Our Swiss Head Office has updated the Lamella technology to help with absorbance”. They also said “products starting with 49 have all been updated “. I also found the new formula stings my eyes. I have a medical condition which means I need to apply spf 50 daily. I will now have to find a new product unless Ultrasun listen to consumers and bring back the old product. Fingers crossed .

I have been using this sunscreen for several years now and the recent formula change is disappointing. I loved that the old one sunk into my skin and felt Matt but with a slight sheen. This new formula makes me look very oily and the texture is too greasy. Feels cheap and not what I would expect from ultrasun. Why do companies do this, to save money? I would be happy to pay more for the same old formula!!

I have used Ultrasun for years, and along with tretinoin, it has been a staple product in my anti aging routine.

The new formula makes my eyes sting and sits on top of skin with a greasy film. The previous formula was perfect.

I never thought I would not use this product, but unfortunately, I will be looking for another SPF 50 face product.

The new formula just isn't the one.

I am so happy with this range of product. It not only provides me with safe sun protection I was running out of options because I have such sensitive skin - this has been the only product out of the many I have tried that my skin can tolerate

It's super:don't need any extra moisturiser,doesn't clog pores.I tried many others before, this is the only one I would use.

I wouldn't be without Ultra Face protection

Have used this face lotion for a couple of years now and find it to be very nice to use. It doesn’t make your eyes sting like most other sun creams and I feel it gives good protection in the sun. Very pleased with it.

I have hyper sensitive skin on my face and neck. This product is perfect to help me keep my skin in balance and under control. I use it all year round. Perfect

I have been using this sunscreen for years. I used to scuba dive all over the world in very hot and sunny climates and I would only need to apply it once a day, no matter how many times I dived - it only comes off when you wash it off using soap. I am exceedingly pale and it really works for me. I still use it now living in France where the summer temperatures are quite often in excess of 30°C. Although it isn't cheap, as you only need to apply it once a day it really does not work out expensive in the long run. Ordinary sun screams would have to be reapplied throughout the day. I would not use anything else.
